TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian General Election Committee (KPU) Commissioner Ilham Saputra announced that the organization has effectively established a standard on the voting ballots produced for the 2019 general elections (Pemilu).
“The implemented feasibility standard is to avoid it being duplicated,” said Ilham on Sunday, January 20.
Ilham revealed that KPU partnered with the Politeknik Negeri Media Kreatif (Polimedia Jakarta) to produce a security measure that was specially made to be printed on the voting ballots.
This effectively makes it impossible for the ballots to be printed outside of the officially appointed printing office, apart from the standard security that will see appointed locations guarded 24-hours every day by police personnel.
Polimedia Jakarta Director Purnomo Antono said that one of the security measures is the unique code printed on the 2019 general election voting ballots that are specially printed for this year’s election.
As of today, the KPU officially commenced the printing of the 2019 general elections voting ballots across 35 locations spread in several Indonesian provinces. The final product will come in five types; ballots for presidential and vice presidential election; and the state and regional legislative election ballots (DPR RI, DPD, and DPRD).
